Capital Project – Phase II & III
Project Overview
CS Arch partnered with Environmental Design Partnership, LLP (EDP) to deliver comprehensive site/civil design and construction services for the Mechanicville Central School District campus. This $10 million capital improvement initiative focused on Phases II and III, transforming key campus areas to enhance safety, efficiency, and usability for students, staff, and visitors.
Phase II: Campus Circulation & Connectivity
- Campus Circulation Redesign: Demolished the existing bus garage and reconfigured the bus loop, parent drop-off, parking lots, and pedestrian pathways for safer, more efficient traffic flow.
- Traffic Separation & Event Access: Established dedicated zones for buses, parent drop-off, and parking, while enhancing parking and pedestrian routes for school events.
- Stormwater Management: Upgraded drainage infrastructure to resolve both immediate and longstanding issues.
Phase III: Expanded Facilities & Access
- Facility Expansion: Constructed a new private access road for bus operations and developed new softball fields to expand athletic opportunities.
Results
These upgrades significantly improved campus safety, traffic flow, and the overall experience for all users, supporting the district’s vision for a modern, efficient, and welcoming educational environment.
