Schalmont Central School District

Project Background

The Environmental Design Partnership, LLP (EDP) was retained by Phinney Design Group to provide site/civil design and construction-related services for a proposed $6 million capital improvement project across two campuses in the Schalmont Central School District.

High School-Middle School Campus Improvements

• Vehicular circulation improvements were a major focus, with the primary goal of relieving traffic congestion during AM and PM pick-up and drop-off hours.
• The main solution implemented was the installation of an on-campus roundabout.
• Additional alterations were made to increase security and reduce congestion within and around faculty/staff and student parking areas.
• Modifications to the existing stormwater management systems were also included.

Jefferson Campus Improvements

• Similar to the primary campus, the Jefferson Campus received modifications aimed at safely expediting student drop-off and pick-up zones, specifically for the pre-K and 1st grade wing.
