Project Overview

The Environmental Design Partnership, LLP provided site/civil and surveying services to Albany Med Health Systems and Hyman Hayes Associates for the rehabilitation and renovations at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Catskill, New York. EDP collaborated with construction manager BBL and the design team to incorporate proposed renovation designs while obtaining local municipal approvals.

Key Features

• The project includes the construction of a new multi-use ambulatory surgery center to expand the hospital’s outpatient capabilities.
• A new drive-through canopy is being installed to provide a covered entry for patients and visitors accessing the surgery center.
• The building’s Jefferson Avenue façade will be reskinned, giving the hospital a modern and cohesive appearance.
• Site modifications are designed to improve the flow of vehicle traffic for patients, families, and staff arriving at and exiting the site.
• A new curb cut is proposed to create a dedicated entrance for delivery trucks and maintenance personnel, who will use a new loading dock serving the surgery center.

Results

The renovations will modernize the hospital’s appearance, improve accessibility and safety for all users, and enhance operational efficiency with dedicated service access and streamlined site circulation.
